Every year, starting 1992 (Gopinath breathed his last in San Jose on
20 Aug. 1991 ), the Foundation has been holding the Gopinath Mohanty Memorial Lecture on the legendary writer’s Birthday ( 20 April ) when an eminent man of letters comes and delivers the Lecture.
Since, 2012, the Govt. of Odisha decided to join in; and the Gopinath Mohanty Memorial Lecture since then is being held jointly by the Gopinath Mohanty Foundation Trust and the Odisha Sahitya Akademi
This year’s Memorial Speaker is Dr Ramachandra Guha, the eminent columnist, historian, writer and social scientist.
